In 2005, the MEGA Shopping and Leisure Centre was opened in Kaunas, the very heart of Lithuania. The centre is in an easily accessible location, at the junction of the most important roads in Lithuania – Vilnius-Klaipėda Highway (A1) and the Via Baltica Motorway (E67). A total of 2.2 million people live within an hours travel to the site. Up to60,000 vehicles pass the junction in a day carrying about 50 million passengers in a year. The shopping centre is located next to the largest residential area of Kaunas with the population of about 70,000. MEGA is easily accessible by car or public transport in just 10 minutes from the centre of Kaunas.

The shops located in the MEGA Shopping and Leisure Centre cover all possible assortments of goods and services: from fashion items all through to building materials. A modern cinema, a bowling and pool club, a children’s entertainment club, the first petting zoo in Lithuania, a mini train and ten restaurants and cafes create both a commercial and social centre: it is convenient to do shopping for the entire family, to meet friends, and to spend time here. MEGA offers visitors various events, campaigns and exhibitions.

The exclusive attraction of the shopping centre is a marine aquarium (more than 10 m high, 4 m wide, and 11 m long) with more than 30 types of tropical species of fish and 6 sea sharks. The tallest aquarium in the Baltic States is one of the most spectacular sights in the country.

In November 2015, development works of the MEGA Shopping and Leisure Centre were launched

In December 2016, after the implementation of the project, the retail area of MEGA increased by more than 40% up to 102,000 sqm, and the number of tenants – to 200.

A total of 70 new shops and service and entertainment operators, including one of the largest international fashion brands Hennes & Mauritz (H&M), opened in the expanded space of the centre. The centre features other brands, both familiar and newly introduced in Lithuania.

MEGA also saw the opening of the VS – Fitness Sports and Wellness Centre, the largest in the Baltic States, which employs about 50 sports, rehabilitation and medical professionals. The sports club features the state-of-the-art equipment, competition standard outdoor tennis courts, professional squash courts, rooms for martial arts and other sports sessions, and a climbing wall. This is the only gym in Lithuania with the skiing and fitness bike zone, which has an interactive screen in lieu of a private instructor. The wellness centre provides wellness consultancy, diagnosis, body analysis, sports rehabilitation, testing, massage, beauty and other services.

MEGA offers a unique space for children – the largest in Lithuania 1,500 sqm next generation educational entertainment centre based on the learning through play concept – CurioCity. You will find 12 areas in the centre which recreate the real life and provide lively and creative activities for children: spaces of sounds, colours, human body, forces of nature, emotions, puzzles, innovation and discoveries, earth and universe, urban life, construction and architecture, farming and cooking!

The MEGA restaurant zone on level 2 was supplemented with a summer terrace for alfresco dining. Green zones were formed next to the shopping centre: a park with a children’s playground, an amphitheatre, and outdoor stalls. A convenient multi-storey car park was built for visitors.
